Own It: Filmmaking with Intent
is a two-day workshop that gives filmmakers the tools and mindset to take charge of their project’s destiny. Through practical sessions on genre strategy, character creation, and pitching techniques, participants will learn how to position their stories for maximum impact. You’ll leave knowing exactly how to shape your project from concept to pitch, so you walk into every meeting not as a hopeful applicant, but as a confident storyteller with a well-prepared, market-ready opportunity.

About Ahmed Sharkawi
Ahmed Sharkawi is a media executive with 30+ years shaping the Middle East’s media industry, delivering nearly 600 hours of content. As Netflix’s Director of Arabic Series, he led hits like Alrawabi School for Girls, The Exchange, and Finding Ola.
A former Sony Pictures Television MENA exec, he’s also worked with IProductions Egypt and Beelink on acclaimed dramas including Halawet El Donia and Layali Eugenie. Today, he’s Content Strategy Advisor at Sard, driving growth and expanding IP development across the MENA region.
